FEES FOR ERT AND LONG TERM RECOVERY: If staying in a volunteer village or at a local church when responding to disasters, each participant is requested to pay $10 per night to help cover expenses. Checks should be made directly to the hosting facility of to the Rio Texas Conference United Methodist Church and mailed to Rio Texas Conference UMC, 16400 Huebner Rd, San Antonio, TX 78248. Please designate for disaster response housing.

LONG TERM RECOVERY FORMS

All VIM forms must be completed and returned to admin@riotexasresponse.org no later than two weeks before arrival date. The TEAm Lead should collect all paperwork, verify its accuracy and completion and then submit as one package. Forms can be scanned and emailed. If possible please try and avoid sending multiple emails with separate attachments. You are encouraged to Compile forms into obvious groups: Construction skill sheets, cover sheet with waiver and emergency contact info, mission covenant. BACKGROUND CHECK and SAFETY POLICY:

Background Check required for all participants. Our tool is Safe Gatherings

For every 2:8 participants, the team must have at least two adults that are vulnerable population safety trained. Vulnerable populations can be children or adults on your team or clients you will be serving in the field. The Rio Texas Conference safety training is available in person or online.

Youth: Please note that at this time we are only accepting youth volunteers 14 years and older. Adult to youth ratio should be 1:5, please.

If from another United Methodist Conference or a different organization, must provide current proof of background check and comparable safety training or complete our online training.

All completed forms should be SCANNED AND returned to admin@RIOTEXASRESPONSE.ORG or via postal mail ARRIVING at least two weeks in advance of intended arrival. Thank you!
