Hybrid ERT Training
This training is split into two session, over two days and will consist of a 4 hour online session and a 4 hour in-person practical session. The two training sessions will be completed within a 14 day period, and all participants MUST complete BOTH session to receive the UMCOR credential. Training schedules will vary, and will be posted on the registration page (link can be found below)
Part 1 - Online
This portion of the class will cover the purpose of, the organization of and the protocols of Early Response Teams:
• To show that the church cares about what has happened to the people,
• To assist the most vulnerable populations with their immediate needs,
• To provide assistance that will help to prevent further damage to homes and property,
• To define team roles and functions,
• To show how teams are equipped, and deployed
Part 2 - In Person
This portion of the class will allow participants to discuss and practice some of the functions of an Early Response Team:
• To assist survivors salvage belongings,
• To assist survivors clean out flooded homes
• To protect damaged homes from further damage
• To do all tasks safely.
